Breakfast for Lunch at Stacy's

Stacy's All Day Breakfast is a cozy place to channel the inner child in you while enjoying a hearty breakfast meal. It is decorated in such a way that looks like a kindergarten school. Simple yet it give a light and vibrant ambiance. 

        

           

I like that the decors are simple and it inspires you to try and do-it-yourself for your next event. :)

           

Nice little mug of appetizers are served. It has pretzels, popcorn, and marshmallow. It's free. But if you have a kid with you, you wouldn't want them to eat it first as it in on the sweet side.

          

The meals are sumptuous and the servings are big.

Layered Sausage and Potato Pie is layered ground beef and Hungarian sausage, topped with mashed potatoes and cheese. It's served with rice and buttered corn and carrots. It is so filling, I can't finish it.

The Rice 'N Shine includes savory garlic longanisa with vinegar on the side. It also has onion and tomato omelette and garlic rice.

Stacy Jones is their version of Tapsilog. It is composed of their yakiniku cut beef sirloin served with eggs and garlic rice.

All in all, what I like about Stacy's is the ambiance and the big serving of their food. All the food we tried tastes good too.

Photoblog: Khay's Desserts and Cafe

Here are some photos during our visit at Khay's Desserts and Cafe. I don't have a lot of words for this post -- just yummy food and drinks. :) Perfect with kikay friends and kids.

From another baker's perspective, all these cupcakes are nice and moist and the sweetness is just right. Love 'em! :)

Sweet Sweet Snack

I found myself craving for something sweet today. I know we still have some vanilla ice cream in the fridge. It's too plain so I thought, "what could go with it?". 

I saw some bananas and chopped some.

Holiday Inn Makati

We had a day and a half training at Makati's Holiday Inn. It is conveniently located beside Glorietta 1. The place looks and feels comfortable. 

                                      

More than that, I got to sample their buffet. :)

There is a maki and sushi counter. 

This is their version of a popular street food - the fishball!

The Beef Stroganoff is good.

Tried some veggies too, it's good for you. (didn't mean to rhyme, though)

Their creme brulee is nice and sweet.

Sampled a few desserts. They look nice but I didn't find anything special, yet.

 

Then, I tried this. So good! It's their bread pudding.

I'd say they have good choices for a buffet and the ambiance is okay too. As I am unsure of the price, I Googled it and found out that it is at Php1,177nett. Not too bad. :)

Sambo Kojin Yakiniku Smokeless Grill

For those who love to eat, buffets are the best value for money! However, the best all-you-can-eat restaurants usually come with a price. It is quite rare to be able to find a place that offers good food choices at a reasonable price.

Luckily, we have one in the South. Sambo Kojin offers good food, and on top of that, very good service as well. 

When you come in, you will be greeted by smiling servers. I like that they would ask if this is your first time to try their restaurant. If you said yes, they will explain to you the kinds of sauces they have for the meats and entertain questions you may have. I also like that you do not have to ask for refills when you order bottomless drinks. They got initiative, I tell you. My glass never had an empty moment.

My relationship with Japanese maki and sushi is quite an intimate one. So, I tried to have a taste of everything they have in my first run. The first thing I look for when sampling sushi and maki is the texture of the rice. I've been to buffets similar to this and can't really enjoy it if the rice is dry and almost crunchy. Then, the raw fish should be fresh. Otherwise, it would be a very sad experience. Sambo Kojin passed both! Really enjoyed the Japanese buffet spread!

One of the waiters came by with a pot and asked if we wanted some kamameshi rice. We said yes and left to get some food. When we came back, we each have a small bowl of kamameshi rice. I like that the portion is not big since it is rice and we did not really specify how much we want. So, good job on that. 

The meats are also tasty! They have quite a variety of different marinades. They also have some veggies to go with the grill. We love the meats! 

There are about three time this much variety in the whole spread.

Aside from the meat selection, they also have some seafood wrapped in foil. I tried the fish with butter, garlic, some carrots and mushrooms. I grilled them for a few minutes until some of the juices are coming out of the foil. It tastes good and a good idea too as I haven't seen these before in other buffet with smokeless grill.

As I am so fond of desserts, I've got to try some. Their desserts are fairly simple but are okay.

So, would I go back to eat here? Definitely!

We're Inlove with Chuck's Deli

Oh yes! Hubby-to-be and I love to eat! And nothing beats a good dinner that's affordable and remarkably flavorful. This is what we love about Chuck's Deli. We ate there a few times and we instantly fell in love with their slabwiches. We love the Ciabatta bread and the deli meats they have to offer. The salads are also amazing! I personally love their Buffy Salad with boneless Buffalo wings.

Well, enough chit-chat. I will just show you what I am talking about. ;)

We're greeted by nice servers and then they gave us this bucket of knives, fork, and napkin. I really like the dips and sauces they have. Really delicious!

And this big boy here is a full slab of goodness. Francis loves their Reuben so he got himself a whole slab!

And with this photo here, I am hoping that you can at least imagine what we loooovvveee about this. Just look at all the home-made Angus corned beef, gooey Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, complemented by mustard and spicy garlic sauce. Mmmmm...

And of course, my favorite starch is here, too.  Double Fried French Fries!

By the way, they have a set menu they call the Lunch Bag. You can get to choose your own 1/4 slab, side of soup or salad or both, and drink for only 199 to 299 pesos each set. And this is what I got here. It is a 1/4 slab Hamsome Threesome, a Waki Salad, and Raspberry Tea Slush. All this is only 249 pesos.

We got a coupon from our last visit. It's a buy 1 take 1 milkshake. Francis got the Salted Caramel and I got the Bailey's (photo below) for the price of one. :)

I tasted them both and they are delicious!

The Tea Slushes are good too. I personally liked the Raspberry over the Peach but it is really about your preference.

Are you ready to take on a Challenge?

Another thing I find interesting about them is their Chuck's Challenge. They have two challenges that brave eaters can try to conquer.

To win the Slay the Buffy Challenge, all you have to do is to finish a full slab of The Buffy in under 5 minutes. And the reward? You get The Buffy for free. You get a 250 pesos worth of GC. And you get your name on their Wall of Fame (which I wasn't able to get a photo of as I was too excited about the food. Promise, I will take a photo when we come back at Chuck's).

The Mother Chucker Challenge works the same way. All you gotta do is to chew down a Mother Chucker in under 2.5 minutes for you to get a 250 pesos GC and the Chucker is free. You also get your name on their wall of fame.

Overall, we really love the food. I find the place small and cozy - perfect for a conversation. This place isn't fancy so don't expect ambiance. There are no fancy chairs and tables, just good food.
