DIY COLORED POWDER

Hello, DIY Brides! Let me share with you how to make nice colored powder that you can play with if you want a different touch of color for your save-the-date and pre-nup shoots.

It is nice because all ingredients are edible and therefore you should not worry about getting your skin irritated with the colored powder in case (and is most probably the case) it went to your face and skin.

Here are what you need:

1 cup water
1 pound cornstarch
food color of your choice ( I have red, yellow, pink (from red food color), blue, and green)

The amount of the food color you will use depends on the potency of the food color that you have. I have here a powdered food color which is quite strong. So, i just needed to use a little bit.

This is what my yellow food colored looked like in water. Just dissolve it and combine with the cornstarch a little at a time.

It will develop color as you mix. be patient when mixing as the colored starch tend to settle at the bottom. Limit your liquid to 1 cup so it would dry up faster.

Once mixed thoroughly, set aside or let it dry under the sun. You can now continue with the other colors.

Then you all you have to do is let the starch dry. I would recommend doing this on the morning before you intend to use it as it would take time to dry.

The colors turned out to be so lovely! :) Though, I think they could use a little bit more drying before using it.
